Project Pinterest!

Today I'm linking up with ILYMTC for her Project Pinterest! Such a great idea to start putting those pins to work!

I was looking for a creative way to get my boys writing more. Not scheduled, daily work but thought provoking writing. Their thoughts, ideas, and interests. I came across these adorable notebooks and knew I had to put them to use.

They were such an easy project. I picked up some composition books at Target when they went on clearance. Then printed off these adorable labels onto label paper with the sticky back.

I found some coordinating scrapbook paper in the basement and grabbed it for some extra pazzaz.

Then I cut the scrapbook paper and label to fit on the front of the composition book.

I tore my edges to make it look a little more boyish.

Then covered the inside with a solid white paper just for good looks and wrote the following message in each one:

Want to be my pen pal? Instead of mailing letters we can write them in this special book and put them on one another's bed to read.

You can write something funny, serious, or just draw me a picture.

P.S. Write back soon!

The finished product! One for each little guy.

I have already gotten some of the sweetest letters. These will be great memories to look back on when they are teenagers!

  1. Ohhh I pinned this too! I need to do it. So sweet!

  2. This is THE SWEETEST! I cannot wait to do this with my boys when they get just a little bit older! Is it strange that I get a little teary just thinking about it? I love this- I hadn't ever seen this pin! Thanks SO much for linking up!!

  3. AWWW!!! such a sweet mama :) That will be great to read in a few years for sure!

  4. Oh, I love this, Case! I must make one!
