I have been on a DIY kick this week. My house is such an unorganized mess with it being half packed/half livable and making me basically lose my mind. So, what is a girl suppose to do but add to the disaster?!
So, I tackled this pile of bows that was clogging up the kids bathroom cabinet.
I started with a random canvas I picked up at Goodwill for $.50 (and then my kids spilled coke on...), grabbed some leftover fabric from the basement and my oh-so-organized box of ribbon.
Then I cut the fabric around the canvas, leaving enough to wrap around the edges. (about 2")
I straightened it up with some pinking shears to keep the fabric from ravelling and then heated up the trusty glue gun.
The edges were wrapped and folded similar to a present. Make sure to add glue to the side so that it stays taunt.
Then I hot glued the ribbon around the sides and back for a finished look. Make sure not to glue the front!
And there you have it! Just add bows.
So simple! I wish I had done this months ago. It took less than an hour and that was with a cuddly wiggler on my lap! :-)
Happy DIY'ing!
VERY cute! I would need about 10 of those to hold all the bows my girls have!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to do this for my Little Miss's room...once she has a room. :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! I have an initial from HL that I modge podge paper on & hung a ribbon from to put hairbows on. It worked great b/c it fits perfectly on this small wall near the closet.
ReplyDeleteNow if only I could find a way to tame the head bands.
Cute! I hope I have a little girl so I can make one.
ReplyDeletelove it. Makes me want a girl!
