So Wednesday I turned 31. Yep, I've officially passed into old. I changed all of my profiles to read "30-something" and told all the kids that a girl never gets older than 29. :-)
The good thing is I handled this birthday really well. Last year was tough. Going from 29 to 30 was really difficult for me. Not really because it was 30 it was just the fact that a year ago I was 18, right?!
For those of you still in your 20's that are dreading hitting 30, here's some encouragement. My 30's (so far) have been GREAT. You seem to settle in in your 30's. Ya know. Jarrod and I were just having this conversation in the car the other day as someone was honking at him for not moving quick enough when the light turned green. We just turned and laughed at one another. Asking ourselves why we were ever in such a hurry. Ok. Maybe I really am old! It just seems like I appreciate LIFE more. TIME more. I seem to take everything at a slower pace and when life doesn't move fast enough it doesn't bother me as much.
Now I have to admit that my 20's were pretty hectic. In that 10 year span I got married, had 3 of my 4 kids, and moved 7 times. Whew. I would be lying if I didn't say that I hope my 30's are less eventful.
I've realized that it truly does seem like yesterday I was 18. And I know that "tomorrow" I'm going to wake up and be celebrating 40, have a 20 year old son, and be hitting my 20th anniversary. Wow. Ok. Maybe that was hard to swallow.
Moving on... So my sweet family took me to the Columbus Fish Market for dinner. Man oh man, I love me some fresh seafood. We had a delicious meal, as usual, and I so enjoyed my little night out.
Of course, I was taking pictures with my phone so excuse the darkness.
My sweet husband spoiled me this year.
Yummy Shark Fin Pie
Some of my handsome boys.
I am such a blessed woman! Happy 31 to me!
